STRANGE LAND - SEP 23, 24
Nightingale teams up with Juventas New Music Ensemble, Composer Greg Brown, visual artist Brian Cohen, and poet Todd Hearon for the premiere of STRANGE LAND, an immersive multimedia experience based on the Book of Revelation seen through modern eyes confronting the collisions of ages-old spiritual questions with our modern technological world. The music sets modern and ancient Psalms for choir, tenor soloist, and chamber ensemble augmented with electronic sounds. This concert event is accompanied by images etched into huge copper plates, printed in the traditional manner, enlarged to colossal proportions and projected in minute detail on the theater screen.
STRANGE LAND is supported in part through the generosity of supporters like you and grants. We are proud to be the recipient of the inaugural David Hoose Commission Grant through Choral Arts New England. We are also honored to be supported in part by Phillips Exeter Academy.
